If the City and County does not see the economic value to the community in this venue it's a shame

Snobby wine sippers spend much more money. Nuff said. These a-holes wanted Sears Point shut down. Yes, I said it. Sears Point, not Sonoma Speedway.

Lived there for many years and worked in Napa for about 6 years. Those in charge are of thr city/county/state are THE royal family of Karens. I loved Northen CA, but it is it’s own country now. I left. Miss the area. But I never looked back. CA as we knew it is gone and never to return inour life time. 🥲sad

One of the best examples of "you dont know what you got till its gone" in my own personal life... i was so nieve about the way things work in a world where property values are worth a million times what the races and fair would bring in... and where the deep pocketed neighbors can effectively block community fun and character because it requires the residents be "hospitable" for a few nights a year... Our society has truly lost sight of what communities were meant to be as we move closer to communism devoid of spirit, life, and comraderie. I am glad i got to experience Calistoga raceway in all its glory and sure will cherish those memories 😢

We have the 'new neighbor' in Petaluma. An EPIC 3/8 Adobe track. And the newbies complain. Same for our airport. Those who KNOWINGLY moved nearby and now make the biggest problems.

I used to watch them before they had roll bars and mufflers. The antithesis to sipping wine and trying to sound sophisticated....

Used to go here as a kid in 1970s…here and the dirt track south of Napa by American Canyon. Sad to see all of them disappearing.

The hordes of yuppies there will pay to keep it closed.

I'll tell you why it's shut down because they built all those houses next to it and then the people are like hey that race tracks loud we can't sleep

I was a season ticket holder at Calistoga for 10 years

City of Calistoga is now the owner. They have 100% goal to bring back the race track. Mayor Don Williams and council members HAVE been working hard to see this comes back! Tommy Hunt is also very involved. There are plenty of folks that would like to see the Hunts become stewards of the facility. Anything could happen in that regard. But be advised, the race track will come back! This is a condition of the purchase, it must be activated.

You guys should do some fundraisers like maybe a car show hangout type thing. Im sure racing fans would show up to support the facility.

We need the AMA Flat Track and World of Outlaws back in Calistoga.

I’m going back over 40 years but I remember a guy from HS who’s dad used to race there. Howard was the name. I think the son Gary may have continued to race there. Sad to see that it closed.

I suspect that the main obstacle will be complaints about the noise, I saw the overhead videos, residential on 3 sides , that will de a killer. I live south of, but have been to a track called "Santa Maria raceway, hobby stocks motorcycles and other classes AND the Mighty World of Outlaw sprints WOW those were fantastic ! Closed because a residential development went in just in back, then the noise complaints started. It is just across the border in Nipomo, San Louis Obispo county .

Too many douche bag transplant yuppies in Napa currently.

Not to mention , louie vermeil, a local who started NARC now has been moved to chico. As someone whogrew up there, its sad and frustrating too see people that care even less take over

They turned calistoga raceway into a neglected mess. The fairgrounds was mismanaged. Im sad to see a piece o local history go to seed literally
